Islamabad Sectors Overview

Islamabad is organized into a grid system of sectors, each identified by a letter (A–I) and a number (5–18). Each sector is typically divided into four sub-sectors, e.g., F-7/1, F-7/2, etc.

A Sector

A-14, A-15, A-16, A-17

Location: Northern outskirts of Islamabad.
Status: Developing sectors.
Highlights: Affordable housing projects, near motorway connections.

B Sector

B-17, B-18

Location: Close to GT Road and Motorway M-1.
Status: Developed by MPCHS (Multi Professionals Cooperative Housing Society).
Highlights: Popular for investment; good infrastructure.

C Sector

C-15, C-16, C-17

Location: Near Margalla Hills.
Status: Under development by CDA.
Highlights: Scenic views, potential for high-end housing.

D Sector

D-12, D-13, D-14, D-15, D-16, D-17

Location: Northern side of Islamabad.
Status: D-12 fully developed; others developing.
Highlights: D-12 is one of the most prestigious residential sectors.

E Sector

E-7 to E-17

Location: Close to Margalla Hills.
Status: E-7 to E-11 highly developed; E-12 onward under progress.
Highlights: E-7 is an elite area; E-11 blends luxury with accessibility.

F Sector

F-5 to F-17

Location: Central premium sectors.
Status: Fully developed (especially F-6, F-7, F-8).
Highlights: F-6, F-7, F-8 are high-end residential and commercial areas. F-10 and F-11 are also highly popular.

G Sector

G-5 to G-17

Location: Middle range sectors.
Status: Mostly developed (G-5 to G-13 fully functional).
Highlights: G-6 and G-7 have major government offices, G-9 and G-11 popular for residential apartments and commercial centers

H Sector

H-8 to H-17

Location: More institutional and educational sectors.
Status: Developed for universities, hospitals, and research centers.
Highlights: Home to NUST, Shifa Hospital, and other important institutions.

I Sector

I-8 to I-18

Location: Eastern side of Islamabad.
Status: I-8 fully developed; I-9 to I-10 partially developed; I-11 and beyond under development.
Highlights: I-8 is a blend of residential and commercial; I-9 and I-10 are industrial sectors.
